Investing in the stock market can be confusing for most people. To get started you may want to work with a stock broker that can help and provide advise. Just be aware that many stock brokers get a fee when you buy or sell a stock. They may also be a "Market Maker" and have special incentives to get you to buy a certain stock.

Once you learn enough and have lost some money you can then open an online stock trading account and use it to buy and sell shares. You may still lose money, but at least it will not be due to the advice of someone else that will gain even if you win or lose. As with most things, it is best to learn as much as you can about the stock market before you start throwing your money around.
